Water
From the Arabic for ‘two seas', it is impossible to think of The Kingdom of Bahrain without thinking of water. From the crystal depths of the Gulf to the freshwater springs that a bound on the 40 island that make up the country, water is all around and has played an essential role in The Kingdom's development.

trategically placed between East and West, and West, The Kingdom of Bahrain has been cultivated by man since ancient times, and man has always looked to the water – from giving up its rich harvest of food to relinquishing the precious pearls that were once the country's principal export.

Now the seas that have long sustained The Kingdom offer up a new treasure: Water Garden City.

Garden
The Kingdom's islands contain many hundreds of gardens and green spaces – the Kingdom of Bahrain is often referred to as the land of a million palm trees.

These gardens and verdant oases provide a welcome respite from the relentless steel, glass and concrete of urban living. Gardens are literally and metaphorically a city's lungs, breaking down CO2 and providing lush green space in which to breathe.

The pleasure of walking beneath palms, and through scented walkways of desert shrubs may be a simple one, but it will be one that is enjoyed in abundance by the inhabitants of water Garden City.

City
Cities grow organically. A village becomes a small town, which in turn becomes a bustling metropolis, a home to thousands.

From humble fishing village to thriving modern city, Manama has survived, grown and prospered for some 5,000 years. Once it drew foreign traders for its pearls. Latterly, of course, the attraction has been oil.

oday, with the Kingdom the undisputed financial centre of the Gulf region, Manama is its pulsing heart. Water Garden City is the next stage in its development. This ' city within a city ' will attract the finest people from around the globe while offering those in search of luxury and sophistication an exceptional and distinctive way of life.
